Hi there! 👋

My name is Val and I write code, design tools, and develop methods to answer questions in ecology and wildlife monitoring. I am particularly interested in making environmental sciences practices and solutions more open and reproducible.

I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) and a M.Sc. both in Ecology, from McGill University.

I am originally from 🇫🇷 but now a proud 🇨🇦 permanent resident.

What I am up to 💻

I am currently a research software developper at Laurier Univeristy in the Wild Lab of Prof. Frances Stewart working on Camera trap data from Northern Ontario.

I am open to work from May to July 2025.

When I am not doing science 📷

I enjoy birding (find me on ebird) and I’ve developed an interest in photography.
